| Daryl,
I got out for the first time with new gun yesterday. I actually pulled a couple muscles in my shoulder during my trip to the Keys right before I got the gun; so I was outta commission for a couple weeks. I still had to have my dive buddy load the gun for me above and below water. Second dive of the day was on the Princess Ann, a major wreck here in West Palm. When I first dropped in I spotted a very large Black grouper (30# range) running for the stern of the wreck. I dropped down along side the wreck and started making my way aft. About half way down the wreck I spotted another black sliding in and out of the rubble off the starboard side. I stalked up on him and got in position behind him. I followed him for about 60 feet waiting for a good shot. I final pulled the trigger with the fish about 10 feet off the end of the spear. Shaft went in about 1.5” behind the eye. The gun is super accurate and looks amazing underwater. My second shot of the dive was 8 feet off the tip into a nice Dog Snapper, stopped him cold.
I didn’t have a chance to take any really long shots as I was only using 2 bands. Once I can load the gun for myself again I will try with all 3 bands and let you know how it works. I am enclosing some pictures of me and my dive buddy preparing to float my grouper, a UW shot of the gun and Dog snapper, then a surface shot of the black grouper. Thanks again for the quick turnaround on the gun!
Question - When reloading the shaft doesn’t always click into the trigger mechanism. Does the Line release or trigger have to be in certain position to get the shaft to click in? I had to play with them a couple of times to get the shaft to lock back into the trigger.
Overall I am very impressed with gun. I’m sure I’ll be ordering another from you someday.
Will
